Art Post 6

Alright, I have finished all the ingredients. They go as following. First page has a tiny bottle which can be played as spice, parsley, thyme or herbs. Then on the same page is watermellon, coconut, orange, grapes, apple, pineapple, banana and the stairs square. The stairs square is our warp. After test playing last night and then playing with brian. My friend Fur dropped by. We played with the warp and it worked out just fine. You dont use the warp as much as you think you do, but it is not a waste. It is used when necessary. It speeds up the playing process thus keeping the wanting to play more.

The next page has pear, a grilled lamb, lettuce, a bag of flour, turkey, and sea food. Sea food has: Crab, shrimp, lobster, and squid. Just in case you were wondering what I drew.

The next page is celery, cucumber, salt & pepper, and garlic.

The last page has pasta on it.

Any questions? I will try to work on the board game cover art tonight which is really this morning. Sorry for posting so late.

Changes2

1. The big question is: did they have fun? The other group we found wasnt that enthusiastic but then again we did pull them from their projects to playtest the game.

2. Did you explain the rules or let them figure it out?

3. What did they think of the board(size)?

4. Are we going with the modified rules of 1 round/3round or leaving it?

Chef Shove shouldnt be dropped, maybe change it to something like 2 or more opposing player is pushed back 2 spaces, on a 1 nothing happens(surprised they thought it was complicated).

By haggis being rediculous, did they mean points or its nature? If the latter, its staying in, former can be modified.

MC cards shouldnt be changed, adding additional rules would complicate things if they found something like Shove complicated. Leave em be.

Link needs to upload the rest of the art

We need to sort out the box art

Bryan you need to paint the pieces

Jarrod possibly modify the board

Shawn needs to add the intro paragraph to the rules and possibly modify the rules

I will get the recipes/ingreds to shawn sometime tonight

Any other concerns?

Schedual

I need to the images of the Mis-Chef cards, Ingredient cards, Recipe cards in my e-mail ff_gods@hotmail.com no later than Sunday. Also are we using the larger map or smaller one? I will have the board recut on Monday before class if need be.

I will be at work from 12-8:30 on sunday so leave a message if I do not pick up.

Changes

Cards stay the same.

The board let Jarrod decide on weather the changes you stated will happen. So call him.

The 2 to 1 spice/ingredient I don't mind. Just let me know sometime today.

Shove is just one thine we could drop. I don't care.

Movement after entering a room is out of the question

Gamers Guild Play Test Notes

I have some interesting results from the play test at Gamers Guild.

-There was a tiny bit of confusion over the ingredient drop off space, as the rules refer to it as an oven. Finding the doors to the rooms took a moment, but that may have been due to the grayscale map. Also, on the subject of the map, Link made some minor changes involving the tables (i.e. the one space next to the surrounded Mis-Chef tiles) and brought back the warp squares.

-They didn't like the "2 spices/seasonings = 1 main ingredient" rule (to tell the truth, I'm not big on it either). They also felt Haggis was too ridiculous for the game (so does Link, I don't care either way).

-They felt that you should be able to go into a room, take an ingredient, and keep moving (if there's still movement on the dice) so the game moves faster.

-Shove was considered too complicated with the four different outcomes to the roll.

-Some of the Mis-Chef cards were considered too powerful, particularly the steal and item discard cards. I think I'll write up some revised rules for them where you have to roll to see if the card is successful or not (we already have that in the "take an ingredient from another room" card). I'll have those revised rules written up in time for the meeting on Sunday.

Problem with the Mis-Chef Card template

So yeah, I've got the templates set up for the Mis-Chef Cards. Titles, rules, and lopsided ellipse behind the title. I made a JPEG, and for some reason, the ellipse doesn't show up. Someone's going to have to show me how to make shapes work properly in Photoshop, or else there won't be any design for the face of the cards.

The next batch of items are potato, beans, dressing bottle and or sauce bottle, dough, peanuts, rice, wine, oats, and tortilla.

The other image is a list of foods we are using in the game.
